Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hard surfaces
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his initial trophy for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a former number one, has had a torrid period, winning just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in specific - led to him exiting of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-time mentor his previous coach.
Now working with his coach and Goetzke, he has gradually progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought three-set triumph over challenger Moutet.
This represents his maiden championship after the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt after spring of the previous year.
The win also means he has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 the champion.
"This championship is in tribute of my child her name, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six championship matches, including in the German tournament earlier this year.
Medvedev's defensive play style and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had led observers to doubt if his ability to play at the elite level was over.
However the player has made changes in the past month, attempting to approach the net and play assertively, supported by an enhanced serve.
He came back from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging opponent, securing four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
Both players traded breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his first ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to create a final set.
He defended 4 initial opportunities in a tight final set before Medvedev broke to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, he secured victory with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
